ETYMOLOGY OF INVEST - FROM THE LATIN INVESTIRE, MEANING “TO CLOTHE, COVER, OR SURROUND”
“I see my work as an investor as an opportunity to clothe a company in some of my Mother’s love.”
— JASMIN JENKINS
Who Jasmin is as an Investor
-
A few years after Jasmin’s Mom died in 1999, her Dad, Robert, sought justice for his late wife, Sally’s misdiagnosis. Jasmin and her brother Rory were left without a Mom at young ages because neither of Sally’s doctors did a differential diagnosis. From the proceeds of this malpractice trial, Jasmin would later, thanks to her Dad, have the opportunity to steward these resources as an investor.
In 2015, Jasmin sat in her first Ayahuasca ceremony, which led her to a dedicated studentship of Ayahuasca (Grandmother medicine) and other Master Plant Teachers, like Noya Rao and Bobinsana. In time, Jasmin was given the gift of healing from the grief, loss, and heartbreaks that brought her to her first ceremony, and – along with this, the invitation to awaken into her God-given gifts.
One of these gifts is noticing very early stage potential in brands. Brands like Mud\Wtr, which she discovered on Instagram, when their founder was making and selling the product out of his van in Venice. And Smalls, a cat food company that she knew was going to be big – just from looking at the deck on a cracked iPhone, over lunch with one of its founders, at a diner on the Lower East side in 2017.

“I believe we are all investors. We have an opportunity every day to make investments in our dreams, visions, and the ripple effect we want to create with our lives.”
– Jasmin JenkinsJasmin has now been investing for nearly a decade and had her first meaningful exit in 2022, from a company that was acquired by Kimberly-Clark.
As an investor, Jasmin embraces her gift as a Seer, to identify companies at early stages, and to offer intuitively inspired connections to the founders and their teams as these companies grow and scale.
Jasmin believes that every one of us has a healer and artist essence within us. This belief informs how she invests – choosing to support conversation changing companies that she knows will contribute to health, wellness – and healing.
-
Jasmin’s healer essence goes beyond investing and into how she supports her clients as an Integrative Grief Guide at Fall Up, which she founded in 2019. And, more recently, through what she shares alongside her Dad, Robert, through their father-daughter podcast, Heart Gardening.
The throughline in all of Jasmin’s work before moving into both investing and founding Fall Up, was a mission. Whether it was at Flashes of Hope, a Cleveland based non-profit that photographs children with cancer, the taboo breaking, culture shifting underwear brand Thinx, or working alongside renowned psychologist and author Dr. Henry Cloud – there has always been a deeper healing layer to Jasmin’s work.
While Jasmin is still learning what it means to fully express her artist essence in the world, part of it is being expressed here in how she honors her mother through her investments.
Investments which (like the Georges Seurat pointillism painting at the top of this webpage illustrates) allow her Mother’s energy to become dots of love in bigger visions – visions that are contributing to, as Charles Eisenstein wrote, the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.
For those who are curious about the tie-in between Jasmin’s work as an investor, her work at Fall Up, and hosting the Heart Gardening podcast with her Dad, she sees all of it as part of her unique Fall Up journey.
At Fall Up, Jasmin supports courageous hearted humans in growing through grief, awakening to their gifts, answering their callings, and embodying their missions. Jasmin’s stewarding of her Mom’s energy into other companies through investing is part of how she grows through her grief, and continues to further awaken to her God-given gifts as a Seer.
Jasmin’s investing is a patron to her healing work, continuing the infinite loop of grief and love in the Ceremony of Life.
